Balloons - a decoration with magic
Sometimes, all it takes is a single balloon to create a festive atmosphere or a special moment. A balloon can be a surprise for an important moment, a message to a loved one, a decoration or that all-important finishing touch to a celebration. It tells a story, brings joy and makes the moment beautiful and memorable.
Balloons are one of the most spectacular party accessories and party decorations - easy to use, available for every party and so wonderfully visual. When choosing balloons, take a moment to consider the mood; do you need lightness or poise, a soft pastel or bold shape and colour? Is it a birthday party, a baby shower or a garden party?
What kind of balloons for a party
Balloons can be plain, patterned or with text, and foil balloons can be specially shaped. Our party balloons always include a foil balloon and latex balloons to match the theme. In addition, the children's box always includes a large number foil ball, which is a must-have for birthday parties.
Party balls always have a well thought-out theme and atmosphere, but you may still want to add to your party theme - and that's highly recommended. Can you ever have too many balloons? Our party store has over 80 different balloons or foil balloons, some only available with the booths, others sold separately in balloon and foil balloon categories to complement your chosen party booth, for example.
When planning your party, always think about what kind of balloons you have ready for your party. If you're buying balloons from our range of balloons and foil balloons in addition to your party box, take a moment to think about the big picture - what colours and themes go together.
It is also essential to consider the placement and inflation of balloons.
How do I place and inflate balloons?
If the balls have a pattern or text, you should think carefully about their placement. The way the ball is filled also has a major influence. It's always a good idea to check whether a foil ball has a particular shape or whether a latex ball has text or a pattern on it - so it doesn't matter which way you place these marvels.
And in this context, it would be worth considering whether the balloons are filled with helium or air.
Filling the balloons with helium makes them float beautifully, vividly and lightly in the air. It's a great choice if you want showiness and airiness and especially if your balloons should be floating "right side up".
The helium-filled balloons can be anchored to the ground with a balloon weight and placed where you want them, or let them float freely on the ceiling with or without pretty strings. Another nice little tip is that they can also be placed on the party table with a short string.
When filling the balls with helium, you should always consider not only the weight but also the type of string to use - you can use any beautiful string, for example a gift string.
Air display , on the other hand, always works, especially when the balls are hung, placed directly on a table, attached to a curtain with a safety pin or taped to a wall or ceiling. Air projection is easy to achieve regardless of the location, although care must be taken with shape and print balls to ensure that the texts and shapes are correctly oriented when suspended. Using rubber bands and tape, you can easily make small arrangements of air-filled latex balls, for example, to hang on the wall.
Some foil balloons are not allowed to be filled with helium and these packages always come with a separate whistle for inflating the balloon. If there is no whistle and you want to inflate the balloon, you can use the normal whistle that comes with the party box.
All foil balls have an automatic valve, which means that it closes automatically after filling. The valve is quite long, so when filling the ball with air or emptying it, the straw should be gently pushed relatively far so that its end comes out of the valve into the ball - this will fill/empty it. When filling with helium, it is sufficient for the helium nozzle to go slightly inside the valve.
By the way, did you know that balloons can be deflated?
Foil fires can be extinguished by using a whistle, gently squeezing the air out. Latex balls can be untied with a knot, for example with a crochet hook. Insert the end of the crochet hook into the knot, push it through, stretch the hole open and undo the knot. Latex balls are surprisingly durable, so in many cases they can withstand opening.

Helium fillers hovering time ofballoons
Foil balloons filled with helium float for days, even weeks. Even when filled with air, they stay full for a very long time.
Latex balloons stay in the air with helium for about 6-8 hours. However, latex balls let helium through quickly. The more porous the material, the faster the helium escapes from the balloon. However, latex balloons can be treated with a balloon treatment agent before being filled with helium, allowing them to remain in the air for 2-3 days.
Tip for our Oulu customers
